Why does the media portray working moms, always, as having guilt?

I truly do find that odd.

I have to say that I do not. By the time I was 8, I rarely spent time with my younger brothers, unless there truly, truly was nothing better to do. Even in the country in the summers, I usually preferred reading than "playing" with them.

That is so true. When my mother was a child, not only did she walk to her elementary school alone across several busy streets, during summer breaks she would also run errands for her mother, such as taking a bus downtown to pay the utility bills. No one ever thought twice about any of it. I absolutely cannot fathom having an elementary-aged child do any of those things alone.

They do play by themselves and make their own quiet time. However I dont dictate that time. They do it on their own.

And do you count that as "do as I please time?"

i think that's more common than you think...i'm not going to share what house number we're on but while we've never been hit with a loss with any of the homes we've sold,i'm waiting on the day we will. lol. the realtor that helped us get this property is pretty cocky - oh,this builder is the best in the area and this home is worth what the sellers want out of it,you'll like this area, yada yada. then at closing as we were discussing all of the many moves we've gone through and why,she took it upon herself to say if we relocate within next year,we would take a loss....and she went on to say she's seen enough homes where the sellers take losses. not just because of this latest slump, either.

I was surprised at that claim too. My dds still play together. My 15 yo will occasionally play with her little sisters too.

To be honest I really dont care what you believe. Unless you do what I do all day how would you begin to know what my day is like?

dd1 and 2 play well together and i've always sort of credited that to their closeness in age. dd2 and ds play better together than dd1 and ds.
