Did you make your decision to SAH/WAH/WOH ft/pt based primarily on objective/tangible factors, or with your heart?

And even the ones that do don't advocate it for more than 15-30 minutes.

***I was under the impression that SAHM2B was referring to not wanting to go to a place like that without another set of eyes/hands.***

Exactly. If I were meeting a friend at the park with my kids, I'd be sure that she/he were able/willing to be that extra set of eyes/hands before I allowed the children out of the stroller. Simple safety issue there :)

I didn't pass judgement on anyone. I simply stated that it is possible to teach your child to sleep on their own. My son and daughter slept on their own. However they did cry in the beginning but they learned to self soothe quickly. I did say I was lucky that they did that quick. Other parents are so lucky. It can take weeks but it will happen.

The answer is... you weren't patient enough, apparently you didn't wait long enough if it didn't work. Because it works every time all the time if you do it right.

I don't think PNJ said that was the only reason, but it was a big reason. And yes, I think it is a pretty likely reason why many hire nannies. I know several people who did and that was one of their top reasons.

Again I will state....YOUR CHILD HAD A MEDICAL CONDITION THAT PREVENTED SLEEP. I have said since my first post those children are excluded. sigh

No there are several different techniques. Are you saying that absolutely nothing works other than just getting up at night and being sleep deprieved for 2 yrs?

Why are you classifying any and every discomfort that most infants go through as medical conditions? Gas? Teething? Jeeez... not medical conditions, they are called NORMAL.
