Did you make your decision to SAH/WAH/WOH ft/pt based primarily on objective/tangible factors, or with your heart?

No, I just got up every night for 2.5 years because I liked it. Your self righteousness is very grating.

That describes me last summer. I went to the pool all the time with my 6 y/o, 4 y/o, 2 y/o and infant. Only the older two could swim. It was logistically a little difficult - I essentially had to stay in the pool the whole time with the toddler, and hope the baby would sleep most of the time we were there. I'd never have had four kids close together if I didn't think I could manage to take them out all by myself. Even dh manages! He takes all four of them out all the time. It isn't easy, but it's worth it.

I didn't say you were lying. I am saying that children will sleep through the night if you find the right way to teach them. It really is that simple. Lots of techniques, you just have to find the right one.

Uh, security and comfort? What kind of pediatrician do you have that would advocate or approve crying it out for hours? Even Ferber doesnt agree with that.

CIO does not work for all babies. Sorry, BTDT. Worked with my dd, but not my boys. Trust me, I've gone HOURS listening to them cry, but no, instead of falling back asleep from exhaustion, they just cried harder. Again, spoken from someone who obviously has children who did not have sleep issues.

Saying it is the parents' fault isn't passing judgement?

Gas is a medical problem.
Teething medical problem.
Yes they are NORMAL medical problems. These are issues that will keep you up for a few nights on occasion. Not every single night for 2 yrs.

Heck, I went longer than 45 mins. I didn't like it, but figured that was the only way. It didn't work.
