Did you make your decision to SAH/WAH/WOH ft/pt based primarily on objective/tangible factors, or with your heart?

That just doesn't make sense. I don't see anyone claiming that they *couldn't raise their children* if they WOH or if they SAH. Only that they might not be able to do so in the manner in which they prefer.

Imo, when I hear (or read) "I SAH to raise my kids", I'm thinking they're thinking that's the minimum standard for raising kids. I'm not alone in thinking like that. But I'm also aware it's more or less an expression, not usually meant as a putdown.

Well no one can change what you are thinking. In my case your thinking is wrong.

No, i do not think that dcp is helping raise their children. I think they are an influence on the children. I think they care for the children. Just like my oldest dd's teachers influence her. However, at the end of the day the parents are the ones raising their children.

Do you think WOH mothers are *not* raising their children b/c they are in daycare?

You mean it's wrong to think it's not meant as a putdown?

I don't think it's an issue of WOHM's not raising their children because they're in dc- I just think (IMO) that they share the raising between themselves, their spouse and the dcp.

I guess we all define "raising our kids" differently. When I found that definition, I thought it fitted the way I always thought of the term "raising my kids".

I believe that other people are wonderful or not so wonderful influences on my kids. However, the raising, IMO only is done by the parents whether or not they sah or woh.
