Did you make your decision to SAH/WAH/WOH ft/pt based primarily on objective/tangible factors, or with your heart?

You can't afford to work and pay for ft othercare for 3 children.

What would you have done, if you had to go back to FT WOH when your children were 12 weeks, if you also wanted to continue long term breastfeeding?

And what about all the women who have to rtw when their babies are 6 weeks old, because that's when their paid leave ends?

"The WOHP is still raising their child/ren but they are taking on a secondary/shared role."

To whom am I secondary in raising my children?

Not necessarily.

I had a choice before I started having children. However, for us, having 3 (or maybe 4) was more important than having dual incomes. For some, that isnt so and that's ok too. It's just *our* life plan.

"Personally I don't see equality in this regard to be necessarily a positive thing."

It definitely is for me and my marriage, and my relationship with the boys.

"He also feels very strongly about the male-as-provider role- it is important to him to be able to play that part."

That's a huge thing - I'd never marry a man with such an old fashioned, even neanderthal type attitude.

My kids did that, plus I was able to go over and nurse during my lunch hour until they no longer needed a mid-day nursing.

I would have followed the advice of lactation professionals.
