Help! Husband pushing me to find job!

My husband has just taken a leave of absense from his high paying 80 hour a week job to focus on being home more and finding out what he really wants to do. He is now working 3 days a week at a job he really likes. He always said if he took this job he would find another part time job to supplement the income. I am working weekends and babysitting during the week, but my income is a joke. Our kids are 5 and 3 and cry every weekend when I leave. My problem is this: my husband has put no effort in finding that 2nd job he said he would find and is pushing me to work full time. I want to be a stay at home mom, but it may mean him going back to a job he hates. He says the kids will adjust, get over it. Am I being selfish or lazy for wanting to stay home? Is he being selfish for leaving a good paying job?

"Me, not so much."

Me either --and not b/c my girlfriend doesn't have some lovely clothes -- but because I feel out of place and funny....

I don't get the persistence on having a suit. I personally don't own one...;-)

"I don't get the persistence on having a suit."

Did you mean insistence, or why suit wearing persists in our society?

I think my old school is hurting as well, small as it is, because many of the teachers have retired. If I recall correctly, there was one for 7-8, one for 9th (I never could figure that one out) one for biology, and one for chemistry/physics. There were roughly 900 kids in total, 7-12th grades. The biology teacher was a joke but I still remember being required to take science every year. My girls will actually be going to the high school geschichtgal attended so she'd know more about that than I would, lol. At the moment my girls are in 1st grade and I've yet to decide what they're learning in science. The emphasis seems to be mostly on math and reading.

I eat lunch a few times a year in a restaurant (private club) with my co-workers

I haven't been to one in awhile, thank goodness, but I've seen all manner of dress. Suits are customary, but not required. Much of our family is lower middle to working poor, so suits aren't really at the top of the priority list.

Me neither. I would feel totally uncomfortable in a place where everyone had to dress a certain way for dinner. I'm more comfortable in the family owned restaurant atmosphere. Though there is one of those around here that people dress a little nicer for, but I don't recall seeing suits the time I went.

I missed that one. Dh and I prefer the corner taverna to stuffy places with suits and ties.

Yes, i had a meeting with the school and the OT the following morning and they started to work with techniques right away with Olivia. It is a step in the right direction. We are now all on the same page. :)
