Help! Husband pushing me to find job!

My husband has just taken a leave of absense from his high paying 80 hour a week job to focus on being home more and finding out what he really wants to do. He is now working 3 days a week at a job he really likes. He always said if he took this job he would find another part time job to supplement the income. I am working weekends and babysitting during the week, but my income is a joke. Our kids are 5 and 3 and cry every weekend when I leave. My problem is this: my husband has put no effort in finding that 2nd job he said he would find and is pushing me to work full time. I want to be a stay at home mom, but it may mean him going back to a job he hates. He says the kids will adjust, get over it. Am I being selfish or lazy for wanting to stay home? Is he being selfish for leaving a good paying job?

I was addressing why I personally am overly cheap. I then said that most people in MY SITUATION... you know, having no money for a long time and then all of a sudden having a lot of money... would be spending like there was no tomorrow. No relation to what anyone else spends money on.

Ahh.. I don't expect that. I don't even know where a place like that would be. LOL.. Even my brother's wedding reception in LA at a nice restaurant only required nice slacks and a sweater for dh.

That's why I said "the only time I've ever seen him in kind of a suit..." Because in reality, I've never seen him wear a suit at all. The tux was the closest.

"...all of a sudden having a lot of money." Now I'm confused.

California is pretty laid back. I've been to some really fancy restaurants in LA, and you are just as likely to see someone wearing a suit as someone wearing cutoff shorts.

FYI, you can rent suits from some men's formalwear shops.

We went from bringing in quite a bit less than $30k a year, to bringing in quite a bit more than $30k a year, in a short period of time. Earlier, when speaking of the $30k income level, I was mostly thinking of people in the town I used to live in, where the median income is %19k.

I would rather eat at the corner Tavern too.

No, lol, no lotto machines, just cheap wine in jugs, tomato salad and fried squid galore. Jeans not a problem.
