Help! Husband pushing me to find job!

My husband has just taken a leave of absense from his high paying 80 hour a week job to focus on being home more and finding out what he really wants to do. He is now working 3 days a week at a job he really likes. He always said if he took this job he would find another part time job to supplement the income. I am working weekends and babysitting during the week, but my income is a joke. Our kids are 5 and 3 and cry every weekend when I leave. My problem is this: my husband has put no effort in finding that 2nd job he said he would find and is pushing me to work full time. I want to be a stay at home mom, but it may mean him going back to a job he hates. He says the kids will adjust, get over it. Am I being selfish or lazy for wanting to stay home? Is he being selfish for leaving a good paying job?

I don't believe for a second that God would condone such a thing.

The Quran does not say (to my best understanding) that women should sah. Mohammed's 1st wife was a business woman and several years older than he.

No, you are mistaken. It is possible to know that things went missing or were excluded over the centuries for various reasons and at the same time consider the Bible as it has stood for nice long while now to be the accepted Biblical tradition of the Christian faith.

There are no Christian denominations hunting for missing gospels to include in their Bibles.

I don't understand why you felt compelled to tell me you love being Jewish.

i don't read scripture other than that from own faith, either. why should i unless the intent was to get nothing but mixed messages about the God i believe in? some religions take fear of the lord, literally. would you believe in my faith,it means nothing more than to show reverence?

i don't think *many* christians is a reflection of most.....our church maybe guided by the bible but it isn't all intended to be taken literally, either.

If that is so, then how are your beliefs and what they stem from anymore valid than mine?

Reverence is interpreted the same in my faith.

Thanks for trying to understand where I was coming from.

while I appreciate your sentiment that I am a great parent...;-) this comment confuses me
"Problem is, I don't think that it is stable for a child in many ways and mostly spiritually"

I spent last night going over my daughters work book in preparation for her first reconcilliation in March and her first communion in May. We attend mass together, we pray together.I'm teaching her that all men and women are deserving of love and respect and that her heart has an infinite capacity to love. I'm teaching her to give back to the community (as is her school) and that it is important to help those less fortunate. I'm teaching her to cherish the earth that we live in and to treat it well. I"m teaching her to laugh and love and live life fully and openly... I don't understand how the fact that I happen to be in love with a woman is not stable spiritually for her when it has nothing to do with her spiritual upbringing. If the life lessons I'm giving my daughter are unstable then I give up LOL

Yes. We. Did.
