Help! Husband pushing me to find job!

My husband has just taken a leave of absense from his high paying 80 hour a week job to focus on being home more and finding out what he really wants to do. He is now working 3 days a week at a job he really likes. He always said if he took this job he would find another part time job to supplement the income. I am working weekends and babysitting during the week, but my income is a joke. Our kids are 5 and 3 and cry every weekend when I leave. My problem is this: my husband has put no effort in finding that 2nd job he said he would find and is pushing me to work full time. I want to be a stay at home mom, but it may mean him going back to a job he hates. He says the kids will adjust, get over it. Am I being selfish or lazy for wanting to stay home? Is he being selfish for leaving a good paying job?

So, when asked what my thoughts were on the topic I should have said nothing or said, hey, whatever floats your boat? I don't think so. I believe a certain way and regardless of what you think, I'm not passing judgment but sharing what it is that I believe when asked a direct question to do so. I don't think God or Christ think homosexuality is good. I do believe as I have stated that they love us all unconditionally. Those are two separate things and it is beyond me why people are thinking I can't share when asked to. Well, I suppose it has to do with live and let live. I don't believe that is what Christ is about. He is not about live and let live.

Did you read my post? I wasn't talking about the future. I was talking about the current situation.

Since when is there a glut of teachers? I maintain that luck has nothing to do with my DH or I being able to work for the government. We have made calculated choices that will allow us to do so.

It depends on the subject. In many areas, female elementary school teachers have a harder time finding placements. Female (especially) and male science and math teachers in junior high or High school should have their pick. Male elementary school teachers can have their pick. History and english teachers in the Jr and Senior high have much more competition. Art, music, and PE in all schools have a harder time finding positions. Most get double certified in special ed.

DH plans to teach high school math, so I don't think he should have a problem. Especially since the county (possibly state?) just upped the math requirements for students to graduate.

That's funny. I think all sin is sin as well. How am I being unfair?

You know, because some pick and choose doctrine doesn't mean we all do.

I was asked a clear question, I gave a clear answer. End of story. No debate about religion unless you want to go to the RDB. I think this has gotten off the topic of the entire board because people don't want other people to do what they see fit unless it jives with their perceptions. I never said anyone couldn't live the way they want to. I simply said I don't agree with it and I said why and I didn't even offer it up, but was asked about it directly. I can deal with it. I understand why you don't like what I said but you are responsible for that, not me. I have a right to my beliefs just as you do. I don't expect anyone in the world to back off their beliefs for anyone. I won't.

I couldn't fathom spending 3k a year on clothes.

As I said, I think 3K is on the high side, but on the opposite of that, PNJ had left out things like utilities, etc.

For us, as I said, I spent $250 on just JEANS (that's $25 per pair) for my 2 kids. That doesn't include all the rest of the clothing -- Walmart, Target, etc --- probably another $125 per child times 4 children. Our kids seem to be perpetually in growth spurts, so there really is not much carry over from season to season, nevermind from year to year.

Also, I've been enjoying the freedom to purchase nicer clothes than I did as a single mom. I've had several shopping trips just for me this year -- and have at times spent $60 on a beautiful cami to wear under a crushed velvet jacket ($65). Jeans were $40 per pair, pants were $45 per pair, etc. It has been really nice to have the money to do this.

We easily hit at least $1000.
