Help! Husband pushing me to find job!

My husband has just taken a leave of absense from his high paying 80 hour a week job to focus on being home more and finding out what he really wants to do. He is now working 3 days a week at a job he really likes. He always said if he took this job he would find another part time job to supplement the income. I am working weekends and babysitting during the week, but my income is a joke. Our kids are 5 and 3 and cry every weekend when I leave. My problem is this: my husband has put no effort in finding that 2nd job he said he would find and is pushing me to work full time. I want to be a stay at home mom, but it may mean him going back to a job he hates. He says the kids will adjust, get over it. Am I being selfish or lazy for wanting to stay home? Is he being selfish for leaving a good paying job?

Isn't there a certain time of the year that jobs in public schools are typically posted? Is that time now?

Well I'm from a small town in Maine - 400 students in the whole high school ( only 92 in my class, about 87 of them I'd known since I was 4) and we had...... four science teachers. Yes you heard it here first. that's one for every hundred kids....that was also twenty five years ago but I'll deny it if you ask me..;-) We also had four math teachers.

Oh, you've gotta hit up an Old Navy retail store during sales time. I've gotten a lot of great deals, but the best for sure was when I bought a pair of cords there for $.50. That's right....50 cents. The pants had been marked down from $32 to $15.99, then to $9.99 then to $4.99 and then they were having some sale that anything under $5 was $.50!!

Old Navy is amazing.

In my high school, everyone took 3 years of science, and 80% of the student took Physics senior year.

Not very amazing. Totally the norm where I went to H.S. in Massachusetts and totally the norm here.

Thanks....except I'm a 5'10' size 16 with a 35 inch inseam....they never have pants in tall lengths on sale likethat I always have to get them on line. That's why I live for spring when I can wear crop pants and no one notices that they're a little too short! LOL

OUr school system hires *very* infrequently mid-year. I think March/April is when all the posting go up for the following year. You wouldn't find very many openings in Febrauary.

LOL, I feel your pain. I gave up on Banana, Gap etc when they stopped carrying long lengths in the regular stores. I am nowhere near as tall as you, but I have the same problem all the same. I need a 34 inseam in Levi's and that can be hard enough to find. regular lengths in Banana for example won't do and often there isn't enough of a hem to let them down.
