Help! Husband pushing me to find job!
| Tue, 11-07-2006 - 10:35am |
My husband has just taken a leave of absense from his high paying 80 hour a week job to focus on being home more and finding out what he really wants to do. He is now working 3 days a week at a job he really likes. He always said if he took this job he would find another part time job to supplement the income. I am working weekends and babysitting during the week, but my income is a joke. Our kids are 5 and 3 and cry every weekend when I leave. My problem is this: my husband has put no effort in finding that 2nd job he said he would find and is pushing me to work full time. I want to be a stay at home mom, but it may mean him going back to a job he hates. He says the kids will adjust, get over it. Am I being selfish or lazy for wanting to stay home? Is he being selfish for leaving a good paying job?

Oh, I hear ya on things not fitting right. I have the opposite problem. Im 5'3" which is an annoying height because Im generally too tall for petite/short pants, but regular pants drag under my heels. Always fun trying to find stuff that will be short enough that I can wear it with high heels and not have to get it hemmed. I have a an issue with tailoring $.50 pants from Old Navy, you know?!
Spring definately is easier than winter, though instead of wearing regular pants as cropped pants, I go the other way and wear capris as cropped pants!! :-)
3 years of science is required for graduation. Most college bound student take 4. I don't know how many would fit in that criteria but I think that it is over 50%. All 3 of my DDs have taken 4.

I have the same problem.
It can really depend. My DD2 will be graduating in May with an elementary education degree so is in the early process of job hunting.
If a school district knows that there will be openings (teachers retiring/leaving, new school being built) then those openings are posted in the spring.
But in the elementary level they do not finalize hiring until after all the kids have enrolled. Until that point they may not know if they need 3 4th grade teachers at a school or 4, etc. So at the elementary level it is not unusal to not actually have a job until school starts.
I would assume if a teacher leaves mid year then those jobs are filled as needed but I think that most of those jobs are taken by people who have been subbing waiting for a job to open up so the general public does not get much of a chance for those positions.
Kinda like being 5'2" and trying to find short pants on sale.
I didn't know you could rent a suit.
Does your response mean none of your friends are married yet, or that they are all already married except the professional bachelor?

Do you believe only Mormons will go to heaven?
Do you believe in more than one God?
Is the Book of Mormon or the Bible more authoritative, or are they the same, to you?
