The point is that spending half of my income on a nanny is not financially irresponsible,
how ironic.
when I was a single mom, about 1/3 of my salary went towards our nanny.
we haven't funded college -- and still have no idea how we're going to pay for it.
was having a nanny an arrangement before your disabled child?
we hired a nanny when we had child #3.
My good friend has a parapalegic daughter. She pays for a full time highly trained nanny. That's a must have, not a nice to have, and as such, hardly irresponsible.....
as I said, when i was a single mom I paid 1/3 of my income to the nanny's salary.
OT Sidejack: What is your strategy for giving? Do you give more to a few charities or do you spread it around?
We used to spread it around all over the place, but in recent years have chosen one charity in each of our interest areas and upped the ante. It has reduced our plea mail considerably.
Not her but..
But my system is I have a set amount per month that I donate. (I handle it like I do a bill. subtract it from my checking account on pay day).
