It doesn't seem like people agree with her so much.
“Clearly," said Arthur,"you're an idiot- but you're our kind of idiot. Come on.” ― Markus Zusak, The Book Thief
Honestly, why do you care so much what other people do, and why do you get to be the judge about what is or is not a "valid" reason for being inflexible in someone else's family?
I agree that asking "Do you think..." is different than asking "Don't you think..."
I have been on these boards for year and asked a lot of questions because I question my judgement often and through this self realization believe I have become more open minded and understanding of others.
It does not matter how diverse we try to make our physical world - with limit time and experiences it is hard to really see "the other side".
I wonder often - am I missing something. Often I am.
It sort of went like this...
somebody: Shift work is a bummer
me: it has it's positive points too
someobody: we got sad when our dad was not home for dinner
me: dinner - I can take it or leave it
Then a bunch of posts: dinner is important, it is a time to get with kids, reconnect, many cultures do it .... etc.
me: Can you do that other times of the day with out food?
everybody - after a while - yea I guess but we prefer to do it at dinner.
Okay - just wondering what the big deal is about dinner - seems like in the end - not really that important.
Okay that was not exactly how it went but sort of.
Hey, that was a pretty good summary!
