How Can You Be Sure...

For moms who choose to use daycares, how do you determine that your child will be well cared for? I have a close relative who is about to become a mommy and she is terrified of leaving the baby in daycare. No one in my immediately family has ever used a daycare

Yes, I think my friend's son was 2 or 3 and going through the potty training. She said he could go to the bathroom by himself, but needed help wiping. I've never been there or done that, but my friend was upset about it.

I 'guess' i had a choice - financially we probably could have done it on my now ex husbands salary but it never entered my mind.


and I am being 100% honest when I say I never worried about my infant/toddler/child during her five years at daycare. did I worry she was drivng the DAYCARE crazy? Oh yeah lots of the time...but worry about HER? nah. never occurred to me.

I didn't mean to "yell". Sorry if I was a little heated, but someone else's post had kind of pushed my buttons before. : ) I'm sure your child had a fun and productive day at daycare, and playground dust on jeans or finger paint on a cheek is not what I meant....I was talking about hygiene matters. My biggest pet peeve is a child with a dirty face from lunch or something. All I meant was that if a daycare can't take the time to wipe a face clean or make sure the child get's their hiney wiped, then I would be angry as a parent. Their job is to take care of the child while the parent is away, and basic hygiene is important too just like making sure the child is stimulated and having
