For moms who choose to use daycares, how do you determine that your child will be well cared for? I have a close relative who is about to become a mommy and she is terrified of leaving the baby in daycare. No one in my immediately family has ever used a daycare

but see...I knew the daycare center and its staff well, I'd spent time ther, I'd done my research, I knew how great they were so I didn't worry. I picked the best possible place for her... I didn't just pull up to a corner and say "hey you! wanna watch a baby for athe day?" I didn't worry b/c I had no reason to and I knew I had no reason to b/c I had done all my due diligence on who was caring for LIza during the 8ish hours I was at work (which is so not all day every day !)

All children are high maintenance, they can't care for themselves.

I keep trying to get people on the side of the road to take one of my kids, so far--no takers ;)

I wasn't commenting on my own experience. My son is only 16 months old, and I stay home with him. I just know my friend was not happy that her 2-3 year old came home from daycare

I meant 8 hours a day Monday through Friday. I know a lot of people do it, but as a first time mom to a 16 month old this sounds awful to me. I don't think I could do it. Although I, unlike some, love being a stay-at-home mom.

I agree it's not the most important thing in the world to clean up a child's messy face after a meal, but I really think if you had done it as a matter of routine from the very beginning
