For moms who choose to use daycares, how do you determine that your child will be well cared for? I have a close relative who is about to become a mommy and she is terrified of leaving the baby in daycare. No one in my immediately family has ever used a daycare

If you had read all the posts and my replies you would know there's a lot more to the story....I can't repeat it all now, but basically we no longer borrow money, we never asked for help from my mom, things are fine now. Please do read the other posts. I'm not in denial. I'm doing what I feel is best for my son.

one of my favorite photos of Liza from her daycare days is her and her little nemesis Bailey head to toe dirt on the playground -- they looked like kids out of dicken's both in overalls both with "oh yeah...you tawkin to ME?" look on their faces. I think they were both 2 1/2 at the time....

I would hate to work opposite my husband. Family time is important to us. If we did that we'd never spend time together and we'd both be exhausted all the time. I could go back to work now. My son still nurses to sleep, but I'm sure at this age that could be changed.

I will not use credit cards and family just to satisfy my desire to sah.

there are oodles of things I regret in Life -- the unfortunate perm I had in 1987, the fact i never went to sleepaway camp, missing out on Junior Year abroad, and buying that ugly Dodge intrepid in 1999 - but Liza's going to daycare doesn't even make the top 100 of my regrets.

Perhaps I should introduce you to my child or as we called her during te toddler years "spawn of satan" 8 hours at work wasn't enough some days believe me. And yet as I said to another poster I saw every "first"- crawl, walk, word (good god and now she won't be quiet for two seconds) first day of kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade -- first dance recital, first soccer game, first community theater play, and on and on. nope. no regrets here.

(this is to you to mistersmommy) when Liza was about a month old my now ex MIL came over to watch her while ex husband and I went to get a few things at walmart. He got what he needed in about 5 minutes and I literally started crying saying 'no no no you have to stay here longer...you CAN'T MAKE ME GO BACK THERE SO SOON!"

My son had terrible reflux, too. We went through months of finding the right cocktail to ease his reflux pain.

You said the child in question was three years old and potty trained, not a baby or toddler.

I have literally spent an hour in Walmart wandering around aimlessly comparing ingredients between the Equate brands and retail , hoping to see someone I know
