How do you do it?

I hope I don't start a big controversy, but this is a debate board right?

I just have to ask those working moms....How do you do it?????

I am a Step-mom to two boys ages 6 and 9. I have a three year old that has been in minimal nursery school since he was one. He only goes three days a week for a couple of hours.

My step-sons BM (birth mother) just had a baby with her BF and this is her schedule:

She drops my step-sons at school to the morning-care program at 7:15AM (school starts at 8:45AM). She then drives her three month old baby to an in-home sitter that has five or six other kids at 7:45AM and then goes to work. She picks the baby up at 6:00PM and then she picks my SS up from after-care at 6:15PM (their school is over at 3:10PM). So my ss's are at school each day for 11 hours and the three month old baby is at a sitters for 10 hours each day!

Doesn't that seem like a lot! I just don't understand this. I offered to watch my SS's and she let me for two weeks and then got mad at my DH and put them back in the scholl child care program.

Why would you bother having children if someone else is going to raise them for you?

Yes but it hones the debate skills so beautifully. If she wants I will debate for boots. :)

Wouldn't wear them in a box. Wouldn't wear them with a fox.........Lucky you live in Tennesee and don't have to make that choice.

If you lived in upstate New York it would be a different story. OR you would just walk around with very, very, very cold wet miserable feet.

No, no, no. I live in TN, and I don't have a skewed or wrong perception of what people in other cities do in snowstorms. They probably dress appropriately for the climate like they do here. Which means, when it snows, wear snow boots. I don't need mine very often here, but you better believe when it's cold and/or snowy enough, they come out of the closet and I'm wearing them!

Pumpkin

I am glad your boys have done well. And I am glad that they enjoy the outdoors so much. However; my daughter does not and she does exceedingly well in school and is on honor roll so I have no concerns with her education. She doesn't have perfect attendence we took a trip later part of September taking her along which she learned a great deal and was able to complete the course work they had given her to do within the first day of going so all went well.

She adores many things playing outdoors during summer is one of them but she is at the age where she is into practing her instrument, talking to her friends, going places and shopping and reading and although she plays some sports she is more academic personality wise. She goes and does quite a bit.

As far as medical advice I wasn't offering you any. I was commenting on what my daughter and I feel as well how we were raised about outside during the cold and what and how to handle it.

So grizzly adams we go out doors we just don't stay there unless it's spring summer or fall. And there is many things to do and see :)
