How involved should men be with their children and how involved ARE men (in reality) involved with their children?

Insults?
I'll be sure to tell my dad at dinner today that some anonymous woman on a message board felt insulted because he wished he had the opportunity to be a more hands-on parent like his son and son-in-law rather than pigeonholed into the traditional breadwinner role that he accepted as the norm at the time. Yeah, right, he speaks for all 80+ yo dads.
Edited to add: Parenting roles changed from his generation to mine, he approved of the change, no more, no less.

And she also did not say cats cradle song showed a cultural view of the 70's or any other time. It was to show how some father son relationships are. That could be in any decade.
