How does this relate to the debate?

Hey I rhymed! lol

Something occurred to me earlier and I wanted to see how others thought it might relate to the whole "which is harder SAH/WOH" portion of the debate that crops up so often.

I think that, when you look at either group *as a whole*, the WOHs might have it harder. And this is why ...

There are virtually no SAHMs who SAH because they "have to". There are virtually no SAHMs who are forced to SAH. A woman that SAH wants to SAH.(I'm sure there's a few exceptions out there; controlling dhs who MAKE their wives SAH, disabled children, etc) A woman that SAH doesn't hate her "job", or else she'd go get a WOH job. A woman that SAH is generally getting what she wants.

There are LOTS AND LOTS of WOHMs who WOH because they "have to". A single mom, or one whose dh doesn't make enough to support the family, or one with a disabled dh, whatever the case may be ... she may long, with all her heart, to SAH, but *can't*. Many WOHMs hate their jobs, but can't quit.

Anyhoo ... just wanted to stir up something new

You know what? I just realized you didn't originally say the points were valid. You said they were GREAT. Later, you claimed you said they were valid.

Still want to claim you didn't agree with them?

And yes, saying "WOHM work to pay for SUV's" is a stereotype. Even if some WOHMs do it.

Yep that is what i said you make some great points, dang valid sounded more set in stine ...and no WOHm working to have SUV"s is not a sterotype it is a fact and if you have a problem with it than it is yours to deal with. I did not say all.

You don't have to say "all" for it to be a stereotype. Some SAHM sit on the couch and eat bon bons. That doesn't mean the SAHM sitting on the couch eating bon bons isn't a stereotype.

Well, to those who actually *have* a command of the English language, it does make sense.

However, I can't speak for those of you who don't have a command of the language. I can see how punctuated sentences and proper grammer & spelling would confuse you though.

And I guess the next time someone suggests that SAHMs beat their children (because some SAHMs DO beat their children), you'll tell them they made great points too.

Of course some WOHMs beat their children and some SAHMs have husbands that work extraordinary hours for SUVs, but that's beside the point. . .right?

That is off how extreme.. beating a child is something i choose not to discuss.
