How does this relate to the debate?

Hey I rhymed! lol

Something occurred to me earlier and I wanted to see how others thought it might relate to the whole "which is harder SAH/WOH" portion of the debate that crops up so often.

I think that, when you look at either group *as a whole*, the WOHs might have it harder. And this is why ...

There are virtually no SAHMs who SAH because they "have to". There are virtually no SAHMs who are forced to SAH. A woman that SAH wants to SAH.(I'm sure there's a few exceptions out there; controlling dhs who MAKE their wives SAH, disabled children, etc) A woman that SAH doesn't hate her "job", or else she'd go get a WOH job. A woman that SAH is generally getting what she wants.

There are LOTS AND LOTS of WOHMs who WOH because they "have to". A single mom, or one whose dh doesn't make enough to support the family, or one with a disabled dh, whatever the case may be ... she may long, with all her heart, to SAH, but *can't*. Many WOHMs hate their jobs, but can't quit.

Anyhoo ... just wanted to stir up something new

Not quite. It's pretty hard to put tone into printed words on a screen. That's just an ASSumption of the reader.

You haven't? You make the same as a man in your career? How did you exempt yourself from the 75 cents on the dollar the rest of us make?

Um, others are trying to tell me that I don't have enough because I don't have what they have if you read some of the other posts here.

NOOOOO, never said it did. The census data shows that WM's are positively influencing their families financial situation. Yes there is a lot of data out there that says there's no difference and a handful of data that says there is. Depends on what the researchers looked at. With regard to dd's self esteem, it's currently higher with a WM. As to whether this discrepency will be corrected in the next generation, we'll have to wait and see.

LOL. Did you take statistics in college??? I guess not. Just because something is more likely doesn't mean it happens in every case. Generalization are generalizations. They're an average. On average, dd's of WM's have higher self esteem, higher career and educational goals. NOWHERE did I say that EVERY dd of a WM is above EVERY dd of a SAHM. Try again sweetie.

I make the same in my career as a man would that has the same amount of education and experience.

In addition, I'm in a career right now that is dominated by women .. and its a professional career too

You pay someone to make your kids' clothes. You pay someone to grow their vegetables. You pay someone sometimes, I'm sure, to make their dinners. You pay someone to teach them when they go to school ....
