Something I heard yesterday in reference to my decision to return to work: "Well, the good thing is you'll be showing your kids that it's okay for a mom to have a career."


This threw me. I've never felt that my children weren't proud of me no matter what

Maybe it's different today, when most women are working, but my mom sah, and it never occurred to me that we would have had more money if she'd woh.

I can't imagine not having a woh salary contribute to the household financially.

Of course I could make that connection, but it never occurred to me that our family would have had more money if my mom had continued working.

i agree.........i would have never guessed then that my parents choice to not fully fund college rides or even designer wear (they didn't believe in) was in any way,shape or form related to what they could or couldn't afford.
