Or for those who do not have a SO, an ex-spouse or a support person...

I always wonder how my mother did not kill my father in his sleep for doing virtually nothing around the house. She was with us all day, an hour and a half away from family, no car and no money.

My dh does a lot. The last few months he unfortunately has had to work out of town, :(, but he STILL does a lot. Every weekend, he comes home, does every ounce of laundry, cooks all the meals for the weekend, and does the grocery shopping for the week. When he was at home regularly, (and likely again next month when he no longer has to work out of town) we will go back to our normal schedule. He definitely does more than the dh's of many of my friends. (They are the ones who have dh's who say they don't feel like "babysitting" this weekend... LOL)

I see household chores and childcare as two seperate things.

In general, my husband has very few domestic duties.

:)

it does feel good, although I think the secret sexist beast in my husband is always a little affronted when I make "guy stuff" look easy (as most of it is).

Hard to put a percentage number to the division of labor. As far as parenting goes, the only thing that dh didn't do was breastfeed them as babies. Other than that, everything was shared. As far as the house and yard goes, he does most of the yard work and we both share the indoor chores except for laundry, running the dishwasher, and I'm the one that usually makes the beds. At different times in our marriage, I've handled the money and paid the bills and at other times, he has. Right now, it's his turn.
