I'm mostly a lurker, but I have a question that I wanted to know opinions on.

Is there value to child care?

I'm talking about the day-to-day, hour-by-hour

Not every employer is the same though when you have kids, you know that, right? Is this is the only experience you have with jobs and having children?

And that could go for people without kids also. It seems the person whom she is speaking about was not at jobs long enough to have time to take off.

I do, that was my stance a few weeks ago in a debate actually.

It's a public debate board.

Meh. I disagree. I had my daughter at 20, continued college full-time, and worked two jobs. One of the jobs I worked was at a restaurant. I was not treated poorly at all. In fact, my managers were more than accommodating with my shifts and circumstances. My guess is because when I was there, I gave 120%, didn't call off unless it was a true emergency, and did as much extra as possible.

The post was not to you unless you are Aurora and has a friend who worked in a convenience store.

Again, it's a public debate board.

I agree, I have worked all types of jobs through the years before kids and a series of similar jobs after kids....all with the same common thread for the most part, they were all very willing to accommodate, but they also know that I would be accommodating when they needed me to be.

A flexible work environment, imo, is a two way street.
