How do you think the economy will affect decisions by women to stay at home versus work? With so many people losing jobs, do you think more women will be forced back into a job to help out (or take over) family finances? Is SAH parenting

But yes, having the extra cash next year would be fun for me if that is what he chooses.

So you do admit that it is a pro?

Comparision you need to live in Area B:

If I were listing the pros and cons of whether he should go to private school or public school next year, the money would not be part of the list. It is irrelevant to the decision. It isn't a "pro" in the sense of "an argument for" a certain decision. It would be a side benefit to me, but it will not be part of the decision.

I admit I have gotten angry with the kid from time to time when he isn't taking full advantage of his educational opportunities and told myself that if he wants to mess around, I should make him do it for "free" at the local public school, but I wouldn't even insinuate something like that to him.

I have no idea what you are doing with those numbers and how they are related to median salaries or costs of living comparisons.

And you think your salary would only be $20,000 less per year if you lived where Bordwithu lived?
