How do you think the economy will affect decisions by women to stay at home versus work? With so many people losing jobs, do you think more women will be forced back into a job to help out (or take over) family finances? Is SAH parenting

Of course not, but since it is a "college town" as explained in a prior post, things are looked at a bit differently.

Humor me .. what title/term did you put in? And what site did you use? I might actually do as you suggested and research it myself, but in order to do it fairly and accurately, I'd have to use the same term and site as you did, so please provide the info. BTW, the opinion of what is odd and what isn't from a non-academic about salaries in academia really isn't particularly informative or relevant.

<> Of course there are other employers. But in college towns, the university usually has such a large influence on the workforce that it virtually determines pay scale, educational requirements, etc for the entire town, often creeping out to set it for the entire surrounding area as well. It's a battle that many college towns have not yet prevailed against.

"Of course there are other employers."

And that makes a difference, especially since you are unaware of my actual job.

Thanks :)

Don't you usually have an option on many things to check off if you receive any extra income, like child support? I have been asked that many times. I guess I am not the only one who thinks it is extra money :)
