How do you think the economy will affect decisions by women to stay at home versus work? With so many people losing jobs, do you think more women will be forced back into a job to help out (or take over) family finances? Is SAH parenting

I don't know about you, but I have been to Sam's clubs over the years and had I know I was the boss....I would have made more people work in the check out line!

But you don't have to email her about it, but I appreciate the effort, thanks.

Yes, if you have more choices, you have to make the decision somehow.

You're right I can't say that but that was never part of what I have been debating. What I have been debating is whether or not it is required that all income be disclosed and it is not.

I do realize that some do include child care payments received on their applications forms if they would not be able to receive the loan without that income but it does put them in a very shaky position.

Then why is it on the forms?

We actually went though that when we bought our house. DH was leaving the military and we were moving here where his new job was. We actually bought the house when he was still active duty but that was soon ending.

The fact that he spent 20+ years in the military proved that he was a pretty stable kind of guy but we not only had to give them a copy of the contract that he had for the new job but I think that they even contacted the new employer to see just how secure that job was.

Like many things in life timing is everything and since DH retired in the 1998 when we were going through a boom his new job was pretty secure. Someone leaving the military now would probably have a much different experience. Even if they did have a job lined up for when they left the military, that would not necessarily be enough to secure them a mortgage loan.
