How do you think the economy will affect decisions by women to stay at home versus work? With so many people losing jobs, do you think more women will be forced back into a job to help out (or take over) family finances? Is SAH parenting

You do realize that nothing you just posted contradicts what she said, right?

You would sit in the classroom to observe to see which of several GOOD schools is the best match for your particular child, who has her own special talents, interests, strengths and weaknesses that certain educational approaches might address better than others. You might not have noticed that parents who live in the best school districts in the country still choose alternative schooling for their kids in certain instances. Or that some of the best school districts in the country have magnet schools, specil interest schools, and a variety of educational options available for their children.

Neither A nor B. The student's complaint was out of sheer desperation. You probably have noticed as you have lived your life that there are people who just like to make trouble.

I feel sorry for people without good schools, too. Luckily, I have my choice of several good schools for each of my children.

You act as if "having to sit in on classes" is some kind of burden, lol. It is not. It is a blessing to have so many good opportunities to choose from. With elementary school, our choices were the local elementary school, which has a very good reputation, two magnet schools in the district, and several good private schools. We went with the neighborhood school for one child and an arts-intensive magnet school for the other. For high school, we have our choice of two public high schools, one of which has produced more Presidential Scholars than any other school in the nation, and the other of which has received a Silver Medal from the last two rounds of US News and World Report's national rankings and is currently ranked "10" by greatschools.com, and the private school our kids currently attend. There are other options, but these are the top three.

Why? Is there something in there about not joking around with people one knows? Well, I guess it's silly of me to ask YOU what's in the Bible. Never mind.

Well, the important thing is that knowing you've posted untrue and inaccurate information about mightyoaks, you IMMEDIATELY went back and edited it out, right?

Hey, wait, no you DIDN'T!!! So are you saying that while you insist OTHERS should immediately edit all their posts about YOU that are provably false, you don't hold YOURSELF to that same standard????

Oh dear. Color me shocked. Tsk, tsk, and now that you haven't and I have this handy screen shot and my post is date/time stamped, you can't go back later and claim I'm making a false accusation about you, either. :~(

It is most likely quite subjective what counts as a "good" school. For example, if my kid's school had English scores that ranked it among the bottom 12% for the area, I would think twice. But some people might consider that excellent or figure that English is not that important a subject anyway. Someone who is easily satisfied obviously would not feel the need to research schools as much as you do.

DD1 went to 5 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and 2 high schools.

DD2 went to 5 elementary schools 2 middle schools and 1 high school.

DD3 went to 5 elementary schools, 1 middle and 1 high school.

Do yu think going to so many schools harmed them? And if so in what way?
