How do you think the economy will affect decisions by women to stay at home versus work? With so many people losing jobs, do you think more women will be forced back into a job to help out (or take over) family finances? Is SAH parenting

who told ou you did ti "wrong?" I'm seeing alot of you and icarly mocking others for how they research schools -- and granted I haven't been paying attention that much but who told you you did it 'wrong'?

I was greeted wiith a years worth of shocked "O" faces when I said I expect Liza to bein charge of her own homework, trust her to know her own deadlines and that I would allow her to fail when it's clear it was her own attitude that lead to it so she could learn from it. I was greeted with horrified emoticons when I said if she missed a deadline it was her fault not mine. I was told i was wrong wrong wrong to the point that one poster even demanded to konw WHICH SUBJECTS she had gottend B+s as opposed to As in -- as if that was 'failing" ...

and that all came predominately from the poster you claim lives by some shining halo of a golden rule when she posts.

except you know...actually not at all.

As I posted in an earlier post all of of my DDs attended 5 elementary schools. One attend 3 middle schools, one attended 2 middle schools and one attended 1 middle school. One attended 2 high schools and the other attended one high school. None of them seem traumatized by their experiences.

Maybe part of that is what they lived was what they saw as the norm. It was what they and many of the kids that they knew experienced as a normal part of life.

If they had lived the experience of having parents that thought that changing elementary schools was so bad that it had to be avoided at all costs they probably would have thought changing schools was a horrendous experience.

Some people are not able to grasp the fact that different and wrong are not synonyms.

Different means just that, different. It does not mean wrong.

Your children all had each other and transferred with each other.

I would never sit in a classroom to get a feel for a school.
