How do you think the economy will affect decisions by women to stay at home versus work? With so many people losing jobs, do you think more women will be forced back into a job to help out (or take over) family finances? Is SAH parenting

Yeah, that's disappointing. In 6th grade I remember reading Tom Sawyer. The writing style was difficult at the time, but given that a person supposedly only needs a 5th grade reading level to read a newspaper, it's sad that they aren't "advanced enough" to read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

I would not mind if a kid able to read it were a rarity. I minded the attitude of the teacher. It was clear that she would not be inclined to look for or support a child who were able. Dd was already in 3rd grade by then and I was investigating a possible switch, so my questions were specific for a reason.

Can you now provide the links I asked for within this thread?

No, that is not what I have said.

That would be the double standard.

I have already debated this, many times...please the past posts for the answers to these questions, as they have already been answered....unlike any of my questions to you in this thread.

While that is certainly a great part of the decisions, that wouldn't be near as interesting as the things created though, lol.

Me either, I haven't sat in on classes because of worry, so I'm glad we agree.

It's wonderful to have so many choices, I agree....

That's a very good point.

I had higher standards for my children when it comes to education, so I looke and searched for something that would meet those standards, if I didn't have high standards...I wouldn't have ever looked.
