Baahaaa.
Congratulations. You've probably just hurt yourself making one of the MOST illogical leaps I've ever seen.
If you live in a place where suitable, safe housing for your family is $900/month, and then take your same salary and move to a place where similarly safe and suitable housing is $1,800/month, how in the world will your SOL NOT change?
Same salary. No other sources of income: no trust funds, Swiss bank accounts, rich great-uncles dying and leaving inheritances, no lotto winnings, nothing but the money you earn through your job.
Where do you make up that extra $900? Please don't tell me shopping for Cheerios online.

Maybe you're right - everyone is living paycheck to paycheck.
Then what are the people you are talking about living on in addition to their salary, if you would please share?

I'm waiting for you to actually provide anything to support your position in this debate, other than you just don't think so.

How about prevailing wages contributing to increased cost of goods and services? Have you got anything to prove that services like plumbers, builders, housekeepers, et al are the same all over?
How about transportation and distribution costs affecting the cost of food as well as store construction and maintenance costs? How about workers' wages?
Have you got anything but your impression that a box of Fruit Loops costs the same in Ct as it does in Tx?
