How would you respond if you were the teacher?
Recently, in my third grade class, we were having the "What do you want to be when you grow up?" conversation.

My 8yo ds wants to be a dad some day.
May I ask why you felt it necessary to tell the kids that thier dreams of being a pro athelete were very small? It seems to me that in grade 3 all my kids wanted to be a singer/actor or wrestler. Heck Adam is 12 and wants to be a football player. It just seems a bit insensitive to tell an 7/8 year old that thier dreams probably wont come true. Its not like they are college age and filling out career choices, they are in garde 3. JMO.
I would have said the same thing I said to all the other kids (as long as it was positive) to the little girl. That was my dream growing up, being a mum was all I wanted to do. But as I grew up I realise I could be a mum and still have a career.
*Praying for my best friend, my Dad*

"I think Noonan is at least eight years too late when she laments that faith now trumps competence in GOP politics. It didn't seem to bother her much when a candidate she supported -- the catastrophically underqualified GWB -- was running and citing Jesus as his favorite political philosopher...It's like the old saying: When you lie down with dogs, you wake up with Hucka-fleas..."--Gator

I'd ask her what she wants do to during the years before she's a mom and after her kids grow up.
Being a mom is not a career.
Yes. We. Did.
