How would you respond if you were the teacher?
Recently, in my third grade class, we were having the "What do you want to be when you grow up?" conversation.

Thank you, I never would have guessed that your agreement stopped at the comma.
<<No, she was fine with it.>>
Yes and so are my kids when I require them to do something, so why is it about my feelings when I do and not for you?

Given your background, I find it very interesting that you have the worldview that you do.

It seems to me from some of the other posts, that you were able to give positive feed back to those who wanted careers and such, but a girl just wanting to be a mom threw you for a loop. Isn't wanting to be a Mom as important as anything else we can do? If I would have been in your shoes, I would have used this as a way to educate my class that no matter what they wanted to be or do in life being a parent is one of the most important jobs they take on, and there is a lot they can learn to be a good Mom. By choosing to just be a mom, maybe is opening a little girl up to the idea of loving children and becoming a teacher (SHOCK!!!!) Didn't see that coming did ya.
I know :)
