"I just don't want to work"

Hi all... I'm new to the board and I am curious.

I am in my mid twenties, unmarried, no children. I work in an extremely competitive field with many other women my age. Many of us are making six figures and the job is very stressful. We all have a great work ethic, but sometimes when the stress gets really bad, I'll often hear the girls (never the guys) saying things like "Arrgghh... I'm so sick of work. I just want to marry a rich man, have kids, stay home and NOT WORK."....... I was raised by two working parents (two very loving, caring hardworking parents). My mother was very successful in her career, and I feel that when I get married, I will (like my mom) continue to work and raise children at the same time (my mom was definitely "super mom" ---she did it all and was great!)...... My main question: many of the women in my work stay in the position for about 5-7 years and then leave.....the funny thing is...

But the 2 or 2.5% annual cap doesn't even cover the general cost of inflation many years.

I didn't want to deal with every single tantrum or every single cranky day all by myself.

Nope. We decided to homeschool Joy at Kindergarten. She never was enrolled in school at all until 8th grade. So we didn't withdraw her. When Erica reached school age, we had already been homeschooling for 2 years. Our original decision to homeschool was based on personal preference--we tried it and liked it. That it was the best educational option for Erica was fortuitous. But it was one of the reasons why we continued. Another one was that I enjoyed homeschooling the girls. So much so that I continuted to see it as the best option for Angela when it wasn't.

I explained why - I believe it's a combination of spending only 40 or 50 hours a week with the kids; not having the emotional issues involved when one interacts with one's own child and being experienced and well rested.

Do you find that the convience of being able to freeze large quantities of food stuffs outweight the cost of running the freezer? We looked into geting a small 4-6 cuft freezer but the cost of the electricity vs the savings of freezing ratio wasn't enough for us.

I thought you were an employer's side litigator.
