"I just don't want to work"

Hi all... I'm new to the board and I am curious.

I am in my mid twenties, unmarried, no children. I work in an extremely competitive field with many other women my age. Many of us are making six figures and the job is very stressful. We all have a great work ethic, but sometimes when the stress gets really bad, I'll often hear the girls (never the guys) saying things like "Arrgghh... I'm so sick of work. I just want to marry a rich man, have kids, stay home and NOT WORK."....... I was raised by two working parents (two very loving, caring hardworking parents). My mother was very successful in her career, and I feel that when I get married, I will (like my mom) continue to work and raise children at the same time (my mom was definitely "super mom" ---she did it all and was great!)...... My main question: many of the women in my work stay in the position for about 5-7 years and then leave.....the funny thing is...

This is what I meant by the faux-municipal in another post. In some areas, it seems that HOAS have taken on the tasks done by local government in older areas. And that's all good. Local governments often have minor rules as well. It's when they go well beyond the minor rules and veer into crushing all homeowner individuality that I get a little freaked out.

So letting people chose their own door color leads to bad schools? That is a mighty slippery slope you's on, Gaba!

it's called the domino effect. read up on it. it happens in all facets of life. yellow doors lead to this and this leads to that and then you have a run-down neighborhood with no one willing to buy in that area

Sure would. Unless math has changed abruptly this afternooon, "100,000 thousand" would be a tidy sum, indeed :) And even if you only meant $100,000, that's more than I paid for my home originally and it's WAY more than I currently owe.

Couldn't help but click, Gaba? Sorry I didn't warn you. There was a recent show on BBC about those dolls which was fascinating. Weird world we live in! Hopefully seeing a bit of silicon won't damage your kids permanently. They probably see more skin on a lasagna commercial. LOL.
