"I just don't want to work"

Hi all... I'm new to the board and I am curious.

I am in my mid twenties, unmarried, no children. I work in an extremely competitive field with many other women my age. Many of us are making six figures and the job is very stressful. We all have a great work ethic, but sometimes when the stress gets really bad, I'll often hear the girls (never the guys) saying things like "Arrgghh... I'm so sick of work. I just want to marry a rich man, have kids, stay home and NOT WORK."....... I was raised by two working parents (two very loving, caring hardworking parents). My mother was very successful in her career, and I feel that when I get married, I will (like my mom) continue to work and raise children at the same time (my mom was definitely "super mom" ---she did it all and was great!)...... My main question: many of the women in my work stay in the position for about 5-7 years and then leave.....the funny thing is...

LOL, I was thinking of Greeks who are fond of colorful doors as well and Dublin is known for them. I really dislike cookie-cutter subdivisions. What a drag.

That's a bit of a leap, isn't it!

Personally I dislike Stepford neighborhoods. If my neighbor wants to let their shrubbery grow up over their windows, it doesn't make a difference to me. Makes my house look better by comparison! ;)

I love the posters that show nothing but Dublin doors. I need to get one of those sometime!

one of my favorite houses in the city I live in is a classic new Englander with a wide wrap around front porch, it's painted this gorgeous blue gray color with a sunny yellow door - yellow adironack chairs on the porch complete the look with big beautiful hanging bursts of yellow plants around the porch -- every time I see that house it makes me smile--it's a gorgeous classic New Englander and a place I'd love to see the inside of!

Yes. We. Did.
