"I just don't want to work"

Hi all... I'm new to the board and I am curious.

I am in my mid twenties, unmarried, no children. I work in an extremely competitive field with many other women my age. Many of us are making six figures and the job is very stressful. We all have a great work ethic, but sometimes when the stress gets really bad, I'll often hear the girls (never the guys) saying things like "Arrgghh... I'm so sick of work. I just want to marry a rich man, have kids, stay home and NOT WORK."....... I was raised by two working parents (two very loving, caring hardworking parents). My mother was very successful in her career, and I feel that when I get married, I will (like my mom) continue to work and raise children at the same time (my mom was definitely "super mom" ---she did it all and was great!)...... My main question: many of the women in my work stay in the position for about 5-7 years and then leave.....the funny thing is...

Apparently because the use of yellow on a door indicates drug use by the owner.

All depends on the area.

again it's not only a yellow door. you have to question the mind set of osmeone who paints their door yellow. what will they do next? kind of unstable if you ask me.

Perhaps they are. My comment is, "What a lovely color". Because I don't think there is anything weird about doing something that makes a house memorable and able to stand out. In many places (obviously not your neighborhood but mine is not the only one), people go out of their way to do something that will make their house memorable. For some it is Christmas displays that threaten the power grid, for others it is cute little objects scattered about, for others it is uncommon paint choices and so on. Not everybody considers uniformity and bland blending to be preferable to memorability. There are some houses in my neighborhood where it is clear the homeowners have gone to great lengths to make their homes memorable to passersby. I go out of my way to walk past these houses when out doing exercise walks because they are interesting, fun and ocasionaly gorgeous.

To each his/her own. My children have no cavities. I did a lot of research on the subject of flouride, and concluded it wasn't for us. Did you do your own research? And you came to the conclusion that you wished to provide your children with flouride? Then BRAVO, you are a mama that takes the time to look into things and make the best decision for your family. I commend you.

I am still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that door color leads to horrible things and mental illness....

you are very dramatic, aren't you? it doesn't indicate it. someone who paints their door yellow is not very stable in my book, makes me question what else they are going to do to bring unneccessary attention to their property.

You are serious right? IOW people with purple doors are fine and normal, but people with yellow doors are dangerous subversives?
