"I just don't want to work"

Hi all... I'm new to the board and I am curious.

I am in my mid twenties, unmarried, no children. I work in an extremely competitive field with many other women my age. Many of us are making six figures and the job is very stressful. We all have a great work ethic, but sometimes when the stress gets really bad, I'll often hear the girls (never the guys) saying things like "Arrgghh... I'm so sick of work. I just want to marry a rich man, have kids, stay home and NOT WORK."....... I was raised by two working parents (two very loving, caring hardworking parents). My mother was very successful in her career, and I feel that when I get married, I will (like my mom) continue to work and raise children at the same time (my mom was definitely "super mom" ---she did it all and was great!)...... My main question: many of the women in my work stay in the position for about 5-7 years and then leave.....the funny thing is...

JCA, read my other post about "me" time sometimes means "us" time (a date with the hubbie). If you are both away from the kids, who is watching them?

My husband often INSISTS on taking the kids out so that I can have some much needed time along at the house to do projects, read, or just sit on the couch, stare out the window at the redwoods and do some mental housecleaning. He was just not able to do this

Sticking to the USA then, there is great diversity in home presentation. Part of this comes from people bringing traditions from other countries to the US. Part of this comes from people just plain having their own taste and wanting to express it. The urge to stamp one's personality on one's surroundings is actually very common. Your cookie cutter HOA-policed neighborhood is not the only kind out there.

In norfolk we had a house down the road (fairly upscale neighborhood and high property values) that was purple and the trim and doors were pink.

So do you have any studies of this or proof that yellow doors lead to anything neg. or even lower property values?
