If you had to choose...

between being a full-time WOHM and a full-time SAHM (and both were feasible for you), which would you prefer, and why?
Given my job and my personality, I would prefer WOH. I don't find my job difficult or stressful. I very much enjoy it and feel energized by it. At the same time, I am lousy about domestic chores, so I would like to have the extra income for someone to help out with that. I'm also lousy at making my own routines and paying enough attention to DS, so although I love being around him, I don't have the energy to be a SAHM, and I feel that DS would actually have a better and more fun time in quality othercare.

How about you? If your choices were full-time WOHM or full-time SAHM, which would you prefer, and why?

Just so everyone knows, I'm more interested in the "why" part of the question. I've intentionally oversimplified the issue by making it an either/or choice between two options. What personality traits, desires, etc do you think would make you personally more suited to one or the other if you had to go all-or-none?

It wasn't so much the non-debate aspect of it as the fact that the same non-debate thing was posted, and posted again, and posted a again, and then posted again. I'm pretty sure that if someone on here and posted *anything*, completely unaltered, in five separate threads, it probably would be met with a similar response. Spam is rude, and rudeness was met with rudeness (not that it makes rudeness okay, but it happens nevertheless).

And I *did* try to be nice - I didn't reply with sarcasm or anything, just a simple "Please stop spamming us!" I found the resulting conversation between her and I to be quite pleasant, actually.

It probably will. But this is a very busy board and it's Monday. They have the whole weekend to get through. This is just spam and, hence, not high priority. Or the op will get fed up with the responses she is getting (none of which is what she wants) and edit out her posts herself. Or the 3rd scenario: she learns her lesson and becomes a valuable member of the board.

"we don't take kindly to non-debate disruptions."

Really? Or non-debate disruptions by newbies? Because I've seen lots of non-debate, completely OT discussions...

I mean really...if her requests had been just ignored (and RAV'd) we'd have about 25 less OT posts on this thread alone. Just sayin'.

you know what forget it... there is no reason to advertise the blog.. it is personal blog with no advertising etc to make money off.. the only reason i added it was so people could see who i was etc so they knew where i was hoping to write something. I am really sorry that inadvertently everything was taken to mean the worst possible way.

thanks guys for your time and excuse the intrusion.

Posting the SAME message on FIVE different threads is spam. If you had been making an inkling of an effort to post remarks that pertained to the debate at hand, I think you would have seen more receptive posts.

You are not debating the topic in the threads you are advertising your blog. It is a violation of TOS.

Sad moms should be supportive..

Bras should be supportive. Moms can be any damn thing they like, including impatient with board disruptors who then decide that objections to the disruptions weren't as polite as she'd like.

understand just don't agree. No place why people cannot speak nicely and get message across.. not even on the first time. Sad moms should be supportive.. don't expect support from others for job we do unless we do it too. funnily though never seen the ruthlessness before.

i did use the board for both my babies.

The difference in response might be that you wandered onto the DEBATE board, not a support board. We're not here to help each other and we don't take kindly to non-debate disruptions. Therefore people here are quick and ruthless about reporting solicitations and spam.

Nothing personal, but it IS a bit like a den of wolves, and you're in the wrong place unless you have a bone to pick (and facts to back it up). You haven't been engaging in debate. You've just been posting the same thing several times, and that's why it's being met with such negative attitudes.

When you give opinions, eensy weensy violins play very sad music in tragic support of how hard your life is and how meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen all those nasty women are whose ongoing discussions you've disrupted and spammed.

Because, it's tragic, y'know, the way they resent it when you interrupt an ongoing discussion with a stupid request to help you write an article for your blog.

Eensy, weensy violins. Truly.

Posting a question on 3 discussions does not incessant make. The threads of discussion were similar so I asked. Truth is everyone does ask this off topic sometimes in the discussion that is not related with the original topic. There is nothing funny or gainful I was trying to do except ask for opinions. I had no idea that this board was closed to people asking questions... forget it.. other boards were happier to provide input and not so closed.

Wow!! this is what happens when you ask for opinions, I wonder what happens when you give it.
