If you had to get a new job......

If you could overhaul your life and needed to change jobs to do so, what would you do? Assume you can go back to school if it requires additional learning/training.

Something completely different from your current or former career/employment.

Any passions you would like to explore? Any hobbies/interests that you would like to do full time?

Don't think about practicalities or money issues.

I have been thinking about an independent bookshop/coffee house. Or massage therapy.

The answer is really, no. I overhauled my life when I was in my late twenties to get my dream career; I am lucky enough to HAVE that dream career and can't imagine anything more fun or productive or that makes better use of what talent I have.

I know I am really, really lucky!

I have several and they are completely unrelated. I would like to have a small restaurant with communal tables where you eat whatever I choose to cook that day. Another thing I would like to do is work as a researcher/analyst for some intelligence outfit, and I am actually in the middle of an education that would theoretically make that possible. However, given my residence particulars and the citizenships/connections in my family I doubt that anyone would have me, lol. Lastly I still toy with the idea of a clothing company sometimes.

Yes, I've thought about it. I was a liberal arts major in college. I would definitely major in physics if I was starting over. I'd probably end up working in IT, as I do now.

As I close in on retirement, I plan to work on my golf handicap and I'll probably get more involved in a small business we co-own, a local package store.

Under those parameters? I'd go back to school and get a forensic science degree or pathology degree.

Or be a chef that only had to work mornings and afternoons! lol

Or I'd chuck college altogether and be an actor.
