And your dh made enough $$ to support both of you comfortably, do you think you would be working?

Yes, which is why I just can't give you a pat answer. It took me five months of investigation and consideration AFTER he was born for me to decide what to do. It certainly wasn't, "Oh, I have a kid now, I guess I will be staying home."

Wow, my "grooming technique" post was both trashy *and* graphic on par with Harold Robbins? I'm not sure I'm seeing it...but....okay. Sorry.

You are very likely to have missed a post which was on very briefly.

I'm with the others. I wish you could come to my Bible study class. You'd be welcome to discuss both your religious viewpoint AND your personal grooming habits, ROTFLOL!

So full of ASSumptions. Well, I'll throw your condescending tone right back at ya.

<>

Ummm, dd didn't have any experience with bottles either. She managed to get water out of a sippy cup. Guess your dd just wasn't as orally coordinated as mine.

<>

I didn't. And, there are many cups out there that are not "sippy" cups, instead are cups with a lid and a drinking spout. No magic. Spillable, but not nearly as spillable as a lidless one.

<>

Its a question of a 7mo not having the manual dexterity to drink from a regular cup without spilling.

<>

Gee, I wasn't even using a dcp when dd was using cups.

<,Just for the record, I'm one of those moms who hated to see young children (especially 3, 4, and even 5 year olds who were clearly old enough to use a regular cup) carrying around a sippy cup all day. >>

Gee, so am I. Gasp!

<>

Gee, what if she was thirsty between those times? I let my children have a drink when they express thirst. I don't prefer they get dehydrated just so they following strict rules of cups only at snack and mealtime. And I was able to do that without them carrying a sippy cup around all day. Imagine that!

<>

Me neither.

Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color.  Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable.

The bad news for me about this post: it's hard to hear someone complain about the "last few pounds" when they weigh 105, and 6 yrs. after the birth of my son I'm still wearing, oh, the "last 30 lbs." The good news? That means I could crush you like a little tiny bug if you said that to me in person, ROTFLOL!

I'm not anti-Christian. I used to be a Christian until right after DS was born -- and considered myself a true "born again." In fact, when I first went into the Rabbi's office, I said, "I'm not converting. I'm not giving up Jesus." I laugh now. I said to the Rabbi's wife, "Now look at me. I have become a passionate advocate for Jewish day school."

But it does bother me a great deal that we have to have armed guards in our temple during high holy day services but Christians can attend Easter and Christmas services without having to worry that someone will come in and blow their brains out. Doesn't that bother you? If not, it should.

And it bothers me that last year at Passover, someone left a burning bag of dog sh*t on the Rabbi's front porch, rang the doorbell, and left. Doesn't that bother you? It *really* bothered me, especially since DS, who was five at the time, witnessed it.

PNJ has said I am "anti-Christian." Cocoapop went so far as to call me a bigot -- "a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own prejudices" -- a charge that made me cry. But, if being bothered by the things I described makes me anti-Christian or a bigot, so be it.

A number of people on this board chat with me frequently offline. They have said they are willing to refute these "anti-Christian" and "bigot" charges. Thank you, Suzy, for standing up for me. I appreciate it. You are a true friend.

is that situation fair? No. Is it evidence that Christianity is anti-Semitic? No.

Are there Christians who give Christianity a bad name? Yup. Just like there are Jews who give Judaism a bad name, Muslims who give Islam a bad name. Hindus who give Hinduism a bad name. Buddhists who give Buddhism a bad name. Atheists who give atheism a bad name.

Does it bother me that you tend to blame the entirety of Christianity for the actions of a misrepesentative few? Yup. Does it bother YOU? It should.
