And your dh made enough $$ to support both of you comfortably, do you think you would be working?

Since I worked in the pediatric dental field for years before becoming a sahm, I feel a little qualified to speak on the topic.
It's really best to avoid juice, even after the recommended guidelines. There's no reason for it (other than sickness causing vomiting/diahhrea). Especially in bottles. You just can't get to the child's teeth for a good brushing at that age (so it's best to avoid *sticky* things such as raisins as well) till they are old enough to be more cooperative during brushing.
If you can truly keep track and limit the amt of juice, then fine. But it's been my experience that the kids are usually drinking a lot more juice (and soda!) than the parents know/let on. It's also just plain healthier to get vitamins right from the original source....i.e. a whole apple or orange.
I'm not being judgemental...if you give your kids juice, fine. I just think a lot of parents aren't aware...I mean, giving juice seems like a totally normal thing to do!

ps: also, on a dental side-note. Get sealants. They really work (when applied right!)
My kids only get about 2 ounces of juice a day.... otherwise just water and milk.

For all of your ranting about Christianity not being the only path to God, I am sure you understand that Christianity is not the only religion. It is not even the only religion that has questionable or oppresive practices.
