And your dh made enough $$ to support both of you comfortably, do you think you would be working?

"Oh, and I'm still waiting above for you to explain why ebm is better from the breast than from a cup."

And I'm still waiting for you to explain why ebm is better from a cup than from the breast LOL?

"I see momofhk as a sahm full of ideals and that's not a bad way for a good mother to be. I respect and agree with most of what she posts."

Why, thank you, thank you very much!!!

Its not what she says about her kids that bothers people ... its what she implies about others.

Nothing at all wrong with proclaiming the benefits of either SAH or WOH. Nor of proclaiming that you do what is best for your own children. what is wrong is stating (and she doens't imply, she STATES) that what you do would be better for others' children.

And then there's the inconsistencies (I don't raise my kids according to research .... and a post later ... the RESEARCH says) and the tap dancing and and and

Of course, this is your first exposure to momofhk. Many of us have been listening to her diatribes for years.

No one, including Jorvia, has EVER said that EBM is better from a cup than from the breast.

Yeah--you can count me in that camp too...I actually have the food pyramid on the fridge so I can mentally check that DS is meeting his daily requirements at each meal.

Of course, my parents obsession w/hot dogs and fast food isn't helping that cause. SIGH.

Reasons it might be better to get breastmilk from a cup than the breast:

Mother is unavailable and otherwise would not get breastmilk at all (any emergency situation or GASP! working)

Mother needs a break and someone else is willing to feed the baby

Mother has died and the breastmilk she pumped is still good

I don't know why I do this to myself. I can feel myself banging my head against a wall repeatedly as I type.

She's not touting anything. You and others keep asking her questions. You're dissatisfied with her answers because she doesn't support woh. She's made what you call "allowances," admits she had an epidural and admits ebm is an acceptable substitute in some circumstances. I admire her for having ideals and following them. Some of my ideals fell by the wayside soon after I had my first.
