And your dh made enough $$ to support both of you comfortably, do you think you would be working?

Why are you arguing about this LOL? Isn't it just plain common sense that breastmilk from the actual source is better/healthier than ebm from a cup?

Hmm, isn't the breast a *natural* part of a mother's anatomy, where as a cup is *not*? Doesn't a cup have to be satitized, where as a mother's breast does not? What if baby doesn't finish all of the milk? Doesn't storing, refridgerating, and freezing cause some of the nutrients in breastmilk to be lost? Again, isn't this just common sense?

My argument (breastfeeding from the actual source rather than ebm from a cup) is based on the idea that it is better to do what is *most healthy* as well as *most natural*. What is your argument based on?

BTW, you're never going to convince me that breastfeeding from the actual source is the *same* thing as offering ebm from a cup. It simply *isn't* and *never* will be the *same* thing. Why do you want it to be the same thing anyway?

"I have tried putting her on ignore but I am like a coke addict. I took her off ignore."

Wow, no one's ever been addicted to me before LOL :)

"No one said it WAS better from a cup. It's probably no different from either. YOU are the one who is saying it's better one way than the other."

Yes, I AM saying the breast is *better*. My argument is very simple. The breast is *natural*, where as a cup is *not*. Also, a cup needs to be *sterilized*, where as the breast does *not*. Why do you think my argument is so far fetched?

"She's not touting anything. You and others keep asking her questions. You're dissatisfied with her answers because she doesn't support woh."

Yep!!!

"She's made what you call "allowances," admits she had an epidural."

Yes, I have.

"I admire her for having ideals and following them."

Thank you so much!!! Most people think I'm just trying to nominate myself Mommy of the Century LOL.

Again, simply admitting you're wrong would have shown more class.

The attitude that "I do everything optimally because I love my baby enough and you don't" makes me sick. Even if it weren't extraordinarily arrogant, you don't even have a basis for claiming that your choices are "optimal" (much less "WAAAAAY better").

Do you think that your breast is germ free? And who sterilizes cups?

Cholera is natural. TB is natural. Cancer is natural. Natural isn't a synonym for better.

"Mother is unavailable and otherwise would not get breastmilk at all (any emergency situation or GASP! working)"

How can mother being unavailable (for whatever reason) be considered an *optimal* situation?

"Mother needs a break and someone else is willing to feed the baby."

Why would *someone else* need to feed the baby when he or she is capable of using a cup? A cup is NOT a bottle, right?

"Mother has died and the breastmilk she pumped is still good"

No matter how extreme the example, it still doesn't in any way change the fact that breastmilk from the actual source is the way nature intended it to be. Sure, pumped bm is acceptable, however it's far from being what is *most natural* or *most healthy*.

I'll add to that .. marijuana is natural, opiates are natural, peyote is natural

Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color.  Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable.

Answer this one:

Isn't it just plain common sense that EBM from a cup is better/healthier than juice or water from a cup?

And another thing.....I'm STILL waiting (three days and counting) for you to substantiate your claim the breastmilk from the breast is *healthier* than EBM.
