And your dh made enough $$ to support both of you comfortably, do you think you would be working?

except that you then turn around and give your 5 month old juice -- when the MINIMUM time is to be 6 months OR even the more generous 9 months.

No, doesn't sound most "healthy" or "natural" to me. in fact, it sounds darn near hypocritical.

<> Of course, that's impossible since you've not only nominated yourself, but given yourself the award, LOL. You really should read your own posts -- they REALLY do sound like that.

Actually, I am dissatisfied because she keeps avoiding answering the questions, not because I don't like her answers.

If you felt so strongly that way....why didn't you exclusively nurse for the first year?

My oldest child had his binky in his mouth 24/7 for the first two years of his life and is the *only* one of my kids who *did NOT* have to have braces. he is 21yo and his teeth are gorgeous. dd took the binky probably half the day and all night for two years, and the same with ds2. they both had braces and ds2 had head gear, spacers, bite plates retainers, wires, rubberbands, AND THE BRAT WONT WEAR HIS RETAINERS!! his teeth are all crooked again and i could ring his neck. one day i hope he regrets not conforming. dd is 20yo and still wears her retainer probably once or twice a week to sleep in, just to keep her teeth in check. hers look so natural, as if she didnt have braces. i tell her she has a $3500 smile! LOL.

"except that you then turn around and give your 5 month old juice -- when the MINIMUM time is to be 6 months OR even the more generous 9 months."

Correction, the MINIMUM time was when my dd's pediatrician said it was perfectly healthy to do so. And according to my dd's ped. as long as she was sitting unaided and showed an interest in the cup, introducing a cup with small amounts of juice or water, was perfectly healthy.

Are you suggesting that my dd's ped. would advise something that was unhealthy? Duh, no of course she wouldn't. I guess next you'll be accusing my dd's ped. of being a liar LOL. Perhaps my dd simply met her milestones a bit sooner than other children. Perhaps she was simply ready to be introduced to a cup earlier than other children might have been (must have been the breastmilk and bfing LOL).

BTW, I have said time and time again, that my dd experimented for several weeks, if not months, before she actually got any nutritional value from the fluids. Did you miss that part? Also, I'm sure everyone on this board has done something that wasn't 100% recommended such as: using cereal within the first few weeks/months of life, going out of town in the first few weeks/months after birth, not even attempting to bf (formula feeding from day 1), going back to work before one's maternity leave is up, offering baby food too soon, bottlefeeding, offering a blankie or a pacifier, etc. the list goes on and on LOL

"Ah.....the ol' because I say so argument!"

Actually, it's the ol' "because my dd's *PEDIATRICIAN* said so" argument LOL :)
