And your dh made enough $$ to support both of you comfortably, do you think you would be working?

of course. but NONE of us have held our choices up as the RIGHT and ONLY way to do things...unlike your posts.

and furthermore, your incessant LOLing at others' choices is so indescribably disrespectful....

and it's funny too because most of the "evils" you mentioned were sanctioned by MY ped. do you think that my ped would recommend things that are unhealthy??

yup. all ped sanctioned. LOL.

"If you felt so strongly that way....why didn't you exclusively nurse for the first year? Why even bring the all cup thing into play?"

Because my dd was extremely curious about and interested in using a cup LOL. What was I supposed to do, *tell her no*? WHy?

"and at such an early age, where she clearly did not need the nutrients?"

I have explained this at least a half a dozen times LOL. It was more about the *experimentation* than the *nutrition* at that age. Is there something wrong with that? If so, too bad, so sad :) BTW, if her pediatrician didn't have a problem with it, why should I care if *you* do LOL?

"Not even taking into account the juice itself...was it from it's natural source? Organic? Fresh-squeezed?"

Absolutely!!! And still do to this day!!!

"Wouldn't it be common sense if you wanted to do what was *most healthy* as well as *most natural* you wouldn't have introduced anything other than fresh, organic foods and not until after a year."

Oh but we did LOL, except of course for the *until after a year* part. Are you suggesting that I should have gone against my dd's *pediatrician's* advice and taken *yours* instead? BTW, did you follow *your own advise*? How can you advise someone to do something that *you* yourself did NOT do LOL? That's just plain silly now isn't it.

Do you suppose that your ped ever advised a mother to give her child formula?

I am curious why you would start with a cup so early if she was getting nothing out of it. If you would have waited until she was much closer to a year then instead of taking months for her to catch on to using a cup it would have taken a couple of days. My kids very easily caught on to using a cup at 10-12 months because they were physically capable of doing it. There was no need to spend months practicing it.

Yup. that was me. but i dont have the attitude how special i am. i CHOSE to do it, just like we all make choices. i wouldnt say i get any kind of awards, as if i worked, i would have been working to pay someone to watch my kids while i worked to pay someone watch my kids....yadah, yadah. so because i *wanted* kids, and we had a small income, we scraped, and made the best of it. would i do it over again? absolutely, but i would not put myself out there to announce, "look at me. i *sacrafice* for my kids". big deal. we all do what we choose to do to accomplish our goals. period.

Ah, but you don't get to brag about your kid using a cup at 5 months.

I was told no need to sterilize bottles or cups for ebm directly by LL, physician, and nurses who bf & ebm themself while they were away. The LL & physician also bf & didn't sterilize for ebm.

Heck, I've been told by friends who formula feed right off no need to sterilize bottles after you do it the one time before use when they are new.
