And your dh made enough $$ to support both of you comfortably, do you think you would be working?

"Oh, MY baby is already using a cup at 5 months. Yeah, it took us hours and days of practice, but I've finally got her sitting up drinking that juice that my pediatrician said was 'perfectly healthy!' Oh, no, she can't have breast milk from a cup though....only juice or water. In fact, I've been working on a way to inject juice into my breast so that we can avoid cups forever...those dirty old cups."

Actually, she makes it with 200% of the recommended amount of water or 100% more than recommended.

What do you mean "we have all decided" that in a few years you will live close enough to visit and go home to your own beds?

My question would be what kind of quack associates the ability to sit upright with the ability to digest new foods? I mean, what freaking connection is he suggesting lies between the ability to sit up and the newly developed presence of the appropriate enzymes to digest the juice? It's just, imo, one of the stupidest arguments I've heard in a long time.

*If* a doctor ever said any kind of ridiculous comment like that to me, i'd make him show me chapter and verse of the study that supports the idea that sitting up signals readiness in the digestive tract.

Frankly momofhk was outhouse lucky that her kid's stomach actually COULD tolerate the juice, because I've experienced the outcome of introducing a food too early, and it's NOT pretty or pleasant for anyone involved. (Mounds of diarrhea soaked clothing and bedding, 2 weeks of a strict soy diet and the complete beginning-from-scratch introduction of every single solid form of food he'd been eating, and 3 full days of full on gut wrenching stomach cramps for my son...and that was introducing juice WITHIN the appropriate time frame).

And all to be able to brag about the use of a cup at 5 months? woofreakinghoo.
