I'm so HAPPY I found this board!!

Hi --

I'm new to the board and I just wanted to ask a quesiton that has been weighing heavily on my mind.....

DH thinks I am just being "lazy" and do not want to return to work, but the fact of the matter is that I am a control freak (yes i will admit it) and I want to be the one raising my child til I feel he is the appropriate age (1 yo) to go to daycare. My dilemnas with returning to work are that I want to be in control and not leave my son, I nurse full-time (and do not have a big enough milk supply in the freezer), I'm on medicaid (for insurance)and worry that if I return to part-time I will lose my coverage, and if I go to full-time I would need immediate health care. So with this said, I sound like I'm a real piece of work....I would like to come up with a solution so that DH doesn't have to work 2 jobs (1 FT and 1 PT)...

What does everyone think? And does anyone have advice on leaving your little ones to a daycare or MIL to watch??

TIA
-Lindsey

I read your BS explanation on another board about why you agree with Bush.

I'm pretty sure it is, but each state does call it a different name.

first of all I think that having medicaid as insurance is not a SIN!!! Probably you would have to go to work in a near future but if now you have the help of this insurance, go ahead and enjoy your time with your little one. Maybe your husband does not have to work 2 jobs, think of the possibility to work at home, or maybe cut on unnecessary expenses, but please talk to your husband and explain your feelings, No matter how GOOD of a daycare is, it will never be like being with mom!!! and if you have the chance to stay now do it., a year goes so fast and then you will have all the time to work whatever you need to do. I don't think putting your baby first is being selfish.

1) I agree that daycare will NOT be the same as mom.

Your profile says you have a boyfriend, you say

Given that she was an expecting mom when she made her profile and now has a son, she may have since married her boyfriend and become a SAHM.

And she didn't say she was a nurse. She said she nurses, as in breast feeding.
