I guess that just really strikes me as odd. Not impossible, I suppose. Just out of my realm of experience or imaginability.
I'm going shopping tonight. Although my average is about $140, I'll probably spend well less than $50.

I am a new mommy to be. I came here to gather information and begin my journey of trying to understand this new and exciting life I have to look forward too. As I read these posts and listen to what is being written and the responses that are being given...one thing keeps standing out in my mind.
I sure hope that while I raise my child I can remember to not be judgmental and to teach this new life I am bringing into the world that we all have struggles and that none of us are perfect ( i wonder when the last time you were humbled was).

I understand what you are saying, because I shop pretty much the same way.
Our budget is $75/week.
You don't have any "odd" weeks where you really don't need much? Like the week you go on your cruise? Surely you don't buy $100 of groceries that week? Or other vacations? Or if you're going out of town for 3-4 days.
Ours will only be about 50 this week (if even that) because we're only making dinner tonight and tomorrow. Wed/Thurs we'll be at my parents for Christmas; then Friday we leave for Dallas.
