I don't LIKE to be strict, but I know myself pretty well.
Even though we won't be eating dinner at home on Christmas, I still bought even meat and things to make dinner for at least 7 days.
I never did either, truth be told, and still don't. When I was broke, the budget was whatever was left in my pocket at the end of the day.
I do keep track of hat I spend (everything goes into Quicken), but that is not quite the same thing.
Nope. Not as in "this is the limit. You can't spend more than $X."
There have been times, particularly in college, that I've taken $20 to the store, or $10 or $40 or whateverk, and spent only that .. but those have been specific to a shopping trip, or for very short time frames.
