OK, remember this is a debate board, and I am going to play devil's advocate here, so please let's play nice.

"I am very organized, and I do like to save money...but I wouldn't say that I cut corners, lol."
I didn't mean "cut corners" that you would not be getting quality in what you buy though.

"It's not that I don't have the time, it's that my time is more valuable than the savings I get from cliping coupons, and/or driving around town to hit the sales."

There are so many things that I could cut out in my day and still have valuable time to save money (like being online-lol!), IMO and I don't drive around town to "hit" any sales. If I am going in the area of Target or Walmart, then I will go there but otherwise I only shop at 2 places.

"With the little ones around (with interuptions and all) it would take me a half an hour or so...at least. And, 30 minutes with the little ones can seem like an eternity. It can mean the difference in the baby napping or not, eating on time....making it through a shopping trip w/out a major melt down......"

I guess. I have been cutting coupons for over 15 years for my family and have had many interruptions but I never felt like it was taking too much of my day.

I don't cut coupons. Not because it takes a lot of time (Target sends its coupons pre-cut), but because the coupons tend to be for the more expensive brands of things. I experimented with coupon cutting for a short while but discovered that it was starting to influence my shopping in a negative way (negative for me, positive for the store). For that brief period of time when I was coupon-cutting, the coupons swayed me into buying things (for 50 cents less!) that I would otherwise have bought in a cheaper version. Or it would influence me to go to a certain store because that's where I could get the particular item. Now I buy those brands purely when they are on sale in the store at the time I was already going there. My brief foray into "saving" money ended up costing me money by influencing my purchasing in a way that benefitted only the stores and manufacturers.

Again, I do believe it all depends on your preference and flexibility to brands.

I don't see why this is such a big deal to you.

Yes, if one has no strong brand preferences, one can almost always save more money by simply buying a cheaper brand than with an expensive brand + coupon.

An I totally agree with whoever said where the heck are all the coupons for things I ACTUALLY buy, like bread and milk? I don't care that there is $2 off a box of Tostinos Pizza Rolls or $1 off of Pillsbury cookie dough - I don't need pizza rolls and cookie dough, I need bread and milk! (ETA: this is a general rant, not directed toward you, RLGL)

It's really not big deal to me but I have heard people through the years tell me they don't have "time" to cut coupons and I laugh because I put such minimal effort into it. To each their own but I plan to keep saving money when I can :)

ITA with you. I just LOVE when I buy a certain brand and then get the store coupon on check-out for another. WHY??-lol!!

Same here. Although those items almost never have coupons, they often have sales- at least the produce does. There are those times when the grocery store bought enormous quantities of oranges, apples, lettuce, carrots or what have you on the cheap and are suddenly unloading it in "buy 5 pounds of apples, get 5 pounds free" quantities. When that happens, I suddenly discover a pressing need for lots of apples (or lettuce, or whatever it is). The savings are much more (and healthier!) than saving 50 cents on Tostitos.
